Barrus Projects completed the delivery of large-tonnage and oversized cargo to town Svobodny on October 2nd, 2022 for the construction of the Amur GCC, the largest gas chemical complex. In the current navigation period 186 heavy-tonnage items of equipment (furnaces, compressors, plate heat exchangers and boilers) weighing over 15,7 thousand tons were delivered by sea vessels.
The main ODCs were:
- 3 high-pressure boilers, 18.6 x 12.0 x 9.2 m, weighing over 400 tons each
- Largest pyrogas compressor in the world: 14 cargo units, weighing from 80 to 220 tons each
The cargo was transported under sanctions pressure and in the absence of ships ready to deliver the equipment to Russia. Barrus Projects has successfully coped with these difficulties. In addition to the fact that our company found the necessary vessels, we carried out comprehensive maintenance, renovated ship cranes and purchased the missing cargo equipment. Our own crane operators worked at the loading and unloading points, which allowed us full control over the work process.
Our task was to organize the international delivery of four shiploads from the Mediterranean and East China Seas (including the development of projects for cargo placement and cargo securing on the vessels, development of slinging schemes, procurement of the necessary rigging and fastening materials, and organization of cargo securing), handling five shiploads at port of De-Kastri, carrying out transshipment from sea vessels and securing cargo on 20 river-sea barges, and performing all necessary customs procedures. The key stage of our work was transshipment at the Russian port of De-Kastri.
One of the client's main requirements was the delivery to De-Kastri of the entire declared volume of equipment, which meant loading the vessels as much as possible. Our specialists developed dozens of interim cargo plans to find the best solution for placing all the equipment and loading it safely. Thanks to the skills, experience and knowledge of our colleagues, the cargo was delivered in full and within an extremely tight timeframe (3 months).
Barrus Projects would like to thank the client for their trust, and our team for well-coordinated work, their ability to find a solution to any complex problem and to implement complex projects.
